2002-2003 Hunting Seasons

The following information is taken from the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife web site.

DOVE: Sept. 1, 2002 - Oct. 30, 2002

CROW: Oct. 10 - Nov. 16, 2002 & Dec. 9, 2002 - Mar. 4, 2003

RABBIT: Cottontail & Swamp Oct. 1, 2002 - Mar. 15, 2003

Jackrabbit Oct. 1, 2002 - Mar. 15, 2003 (West of I-35 only); no season on jackrabbits east of I-35

WILD TURKEY: Fall 2002 GUN: Nov. 2 - Nov. 22, 2002; closed in S.E. counties

ARCHERY: same as deer archery; statewide

WILD TURKEY: Spring 2003 April 6 - May 6, 2003 Statewide except S.E. counties

April 6-  28, 2003, S.E. counties: Atoka, Choctaw, Coal, Latimer, LeFlore, McCurtain, Pittsburg, Pushmataha

QUAIL: Nov. 9 2002 - Feb. 15, 2003

PHEASANT: Panhandle and N.W. Counties (see Oklahoma Hunting Guide for counties)- Dec. 1 - Jan. 31

DEER:  

ARCHERY: Oct. 1 - Nov. 22 &Dec.2, 2002 -January 15, 2003 (Antlerless deer only from Jan. 1-15, 2003)
PRIMITIVE FIREARMS: Oct. 26 - Nov. 3, 2002 (Antlerless days vary by zone)
GUN: Nov. 23-Dec. 1, 2002 (Antlerless days vary by zone)

A Special Antlerless Season will be held Dec. 20 - 22 & Dec. 27 - 29 (Open only in certain zones). Consult the 2002-2003 Oklahoma Hunting Guide for dates and zones.

SQUIRREL: May 15, 2002 - Jan. 31, 2003

RAIL: Sept. 1-Nov. 9, 2002

GALLINULE: Sept. 1-Nov. 9, 2002

WOODCOCK: Nov. 1-Dec. 15, 2002

COMMON SNIPE: Oct. 1, 2002-Jan. 15, 2003

TEAL: Sept. 21-29, 2002: statewide

SPECIAL RESIDENT CANADA GOOSE SEASON: Sept. 21- 30, 2002; statewide
